Why you should always add some veggies to your smoothies

            Everyone loves a good smoothie, especially when they are so fruity and sweet, it almost tastes sinful. For most of us, adding fruits into our diet is effortless because they taste so good many people eat fruits as is. Eating vegetables, on the other hand, may be more of a chore for some people. This is why adding a vegetable to your smoothies is so important. It’s a great way to sneak vegetables into your diet without having to chomp down on broccoli or a celery stick.

            One of the major benefits of adding vegetables to your smoothie is that it increases your produce intake by allowing you to consume several servings of veggies within one sitting. This way you don’t have to worry about consuming the daily recommended eight-nine servings of fruits and vegetables over a span of 3-5 meals. Just consume the majority of it within a smoothie and enjoy some steamed broccoli or spinach salad with your entree.

            Another leafy green vegetable you can add to your smoothies is Kale. Kale has become very popular within the healthy world and is definitely denser than spinach. Its density, however, does not compensate for its high content in vitamin A, B, C, K, omega 3, iron, calcium, potassium, and manganese. Needless to say, kale is a must-have antioxidant ingredient in smoothies as it can help prevent and fight diseases and illnesses. It can also help prevent the well known and painful kidney stone.

            Adding vegetables to your smoothies can help you curb your cravings and is also very filling. Due to the fact that they contain high amounts of water and fiber, it can help you stay full for a longer period of time. In the long run, this can become a natural weight loss aid.

            The best thing about veggie fruit smoothies is that they are so easy to make. You don’t have to worry about how to prepare your vegetables because you can just throw them into a blender with fruits. They are also very easy to take with you which make it effortless to consume more vegetables throughout the day. Custom make your smoothie by changing up the kind of veggie you add to it. Add spinach one day, kale on another, carrots the next day, and avocado on the next. Get creative!
